But this app was a boon for someone who doesn`t support long (and sometimes non-skipable) video ads. The referral program is a very nice touch, even if I haven`t used it yet. If I had more coins to lose, I`d gladly pay the dollar for the ad-free plan, but hopefully the money I make from non-educational, quick-closing ads (which don`t often interrupt videos, if at all) may eventually exceed $10 for the ad-free plan, because honestly, that person (or team) deserves it. Constant updates and improvements that make the official YT app easily look like a cheap and greedy copy. The background rendering is the biggest cherry at the top. Fantastic. Thank you for this application. They make our video browsing MUCH more enjoyable while not providing your users with any malicious or annoying bait. I really appreciate it, as do many others, I`m sure.
I downloaded this about a week ago and no problem so far. Best alternative to the main YT and PiP app is amazing! Although I wish there was an option to play videos in horizontal mode instead of the app going into full screen mode when viewing a video. That`s really it, and keep up the great work! At the end of the free trial, advertisements appear. They are easily ignored after less than two seconds and it`s like an ad when you open it. Compare that to YT, where there are two 15-second non-skippable ads at the beginning and end of each video, with the option of ads in the middle. This app is the best I`ve seen so far. The subscription is also quite good as it is MUCH LESS compared to YT Red. Even if you choose not to get the subscription, it`s a much better alternative. If something bad happens in the future, I will change this review, but so far, it`s an amazing app. My favorite part is that you can speed up videos and hold sound properly, not the horrible way Safari makes it sound.
It seems that this app is actually just a modified Chromium browser that acts as a skin for Youtube. If you need to ask, the answer is probably no. I used it. I`m not sure they can get your credentials. The app is actually just a browser. You log in to the real YouTube mobile site in the browser. So that`s probably good. If you have 2FA active, you`ll probably be fine, as any strange foreign filing with these credentials should be done immediately and Google would likely flag them as an unknown connection. With a DNS-based adblock, you can also block ads from the app and not bother paying for them. Or simply pay the months of $1.50/3.
Does the app have a published privacy policy? Does it use OAuth or does it actually store your credentials? I found this app on the AppStore when I was looking for a YouTube Vanced offer for iOS. It`s definitely not open source, as their whole model is to insert their own ads into the YouTube mobile website browser. You pay (via an App Store subscription) to have them removed. The browser already removes native ads from Youtube. I worked my way through that. Through no fault of the author, I had a hard time following the stories.
