This series not only has everything to do with the law and legal proceedings, but also a lot to do with the relationship between the main character and his new assistant. Throughout the series, Glenn Close`s character, Patty, tends to distance herself from all the chaos as she tries to leave the law firm for something else. All these intrigues in the courtroom are spiced up by the private lives and romantic relationships of the firm`s lawyers. Think of them as additional challenges for all legal staff and professionals. All this is happening in the City of Angels. Either way, the twist in The Defenders is that it`s set in Las Vega – a unique location that`s often less explored in law or crime series.
It follows the exploits of two lawyers who go the extra mile to help their clients as they are torn in a tug-of-war between their careers and their personal lives. Harvey Specter, Mike Ross, Donna Paulsen, Louis Litt, Rachel Zane and Jessica Pearson are just a few of the names we all love since the pilot episode of Suits in 2011. Some shows didn`t even last a single season, as their premise was simply considered too weak to warrant staying. Boston Legal was held for at least a few seasons and had some on-screen success thanks to its actors and their wild and crazy antics. But unfortunately, as with all shows, there was always the possibility that they would finally have to face the music and find other venues if their show was cancelled. The Practice sometimes throws a hint of light comedy in the middle of all the legal issues that conflict with personal morality, giving it a little heart and not just unhappiness.
