Military Law Review Tjaglcs

The Military Law Review is a quarterly digital publication that highlights the strong scientific work produced across the JAG Corps. The extensive online archive dates back to 1958! In addition, Chair lectures sponsored by the Alumni Association are transcribed and printed in the Military Law Journal so that all members of the Association can participate in leadership and scholarship lessons offered by distinguished members of the military and legal communities. Published in print and online, The Army Lawyer features a mix of scholarly articles, training notes, and regimental news. Each issue is thematic, including the recent introduction of the overhaul of military justice, civilian lawyers and paraprofessionals, and resilience. There are countless articles useful to practitioners in the field, as well as many other news stories that keep the elder community well informed and connected to the practice and culture of the JAG Corps. The publication is open to all members of the JAG Corps as well as authors from outside the JAG Corps! Whether you are a junior paralegal or a senior civilian lawyer, a judge or a legal administrator, the Army Attorney wants to hear from you! Email your submission to: usarmy.pentagon.hqda-tjaglcs.list.tjaglcs-tal-editor@mail.mil or follow the link on the website here. Other articles in the latest issue of the Military Law Review include a look at human rights and detention operations in the Indo-Pacific region, interoperability between US special forces and foreign non-military forces, and a very recent assessment of the “widow`s tax.” In 2019, a new member of the Chair`s lecture series presented the Thomas J. Romig Lecture on Principled Legal Practice. The first of these lectures was given by Mr. Alberto Mora, former Naval Advocate General, who worked closely with the TJAG service to oppose the use of torture at the Guantanamo Bay naval base. This presentation can be read on the website of the Revue de droit militaire, which can be found here.
