On June 17, 2016, Oher signed a three-year contract extension with the Panthers worth $21.6 million guaranteed to be $9.5 million. Freeze was convicted of secondary offenses for contacting other Memphis-area recruits before joining Ole Miss` team.
On July 30, 2009, Oher signed a five-year, $13.8 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens. He began the 2009 season as a right tackle, but was moved to the left side after an injury to lineman Jared Gaither.[21] In week eight, he returned to the right tackle. He played his first five NFL seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He has been stuck in concussion protocol since September. According to the police report, an Uber driver brought Oher and four other friends to death on September 14. Oher argued with the driver, who tried to collect a higher rate, according to the report. The family began to take care of his needs after becoming familiar with his difficult childhood. They also hired a tutor to work with him 20 hours a week.
