Advocacy, drafting and mediation are essential elements of legal education and practice. A student learns more in an appropriate environment where they have the opportunity to show if they have the ability and inclination to demonstrate effectiveness for these broader aspects of legal practice. A law school creates laboratory conditions in the form of a legal aid clinic. The Legal Aid and Services Clinic is a constituent unit of the Faculty of Law, also known as the Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University. This clinic has been at the service of society since 1977. The objective of the Legal Aid and Services Clinic is to achieve our constitutional objectives as enshrined in the preamble to the Indian Constitution. The Constitution of India seeks to ensure justice, liberty, equality to all its citizens, and among them all to promote fraternity, which ensures the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the nation. Everyone has the right to equality before the law. The clinic strives to provide legal assistance to poor and marginalized people in India. For more details, visit www.bhulasc.com webinar was held in collaboration with the Indian Law Institute in New Delhi and conducted a six-day workshop on “Environmental Laws: Contemporary Issues and Challenges” via video conference with Google Hangout from February 6-11, 2017. The workshop discussed specific environmental issues across the field of corporate law, human rights, intellectual property law, criminal law, history, philosophy, religion and other relevant areas not only to cultivate environmental awareness, but also to reflect on the magnitude of the environmental crisis in the world.
