Josephine Whelan Forte Legal
After an initial six-month development and testing phase, which began in January 2019 with the establishment of a pool of paralegals now over 100, client demand for our paralegal offering grew month-on-month in the second half of 2019 and increased by 50% in the first quarter of 2020. This is due to particularly high customer demand in March, with 23 live deployments underway. “Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen internal teams face increasing budgetary and professional pressures. This trend is only intensifying. LOD Paralegals started because of client demand for another way our services can ease the pressure and allow the team to focus on the more important strategic issues – and now there are more than ever before. “We have built a pool of over 100 paralegals to provide cost-effective solutions to a range of client needs. From experienced law graduates and the city`s best future interns to professional assistants and foreign lawyers. All of our paralegals go through a thorough vetting process to assess their experience, business acumen and “fit” with our clients. “We saw a gap in the market for great paralegals and we responded as we always do – thinking about our clients. We have already successfully placed individual paralegals and led teams with some of our biggest clients, the kind of names that young lawyers like to experience with. Most paralegals come from a generation that takes digital for granted, and we carefully support paralegals` remote work arrangements to ensure they are effective for our clients.
Most of our paralegals already have experience working from home and have adapted quickly. Most of our paralegals have already completed a number of internships in a wide range of industries, giving them the business knowledge our clients expect. As a result, they are able to start immediately and immediately reduce much of the pressure our customers are currently facing. Paralegals is one of our secondment solutions that helps clients manage day-to-day tasks such as contract processing in the most cost-effective manner on an interim basis. Clients can also access immediate support from law firms through LOD Legal, which was launched in the UK earlier this year, long-term agreements through managed services, and advice on long-term legal strategy through Legal Operations & Tech.
